U-PVC well pipes are engineered for exceptional longevity. Unlike steel pipes, they are immune to corrosion and oxidation. When installed correctly within their pressure ratings, Hass Pipe U-PVC systems have a service life expectancy of over 50 years, maintaining their structural integrity without degrading.

Yes, absolutely. U-PVC is the ideal material for hard water environments. Its smooth inner surface prevents the adhesion of minerals, significantly reducing the risk of calcification and scaling (incrustation) that typically clogs metal pipes. This ensures consistent water flow rates over time.

The required pressure rating depends on the well depth and pump power. For shallow wells (up to 100m), Medium Duty pipes (typically 10-15 Bar) are sufficient. For deep wells (up to 300m) or geothermal applications, we recommend our Heavy Duty Series which withstands pressures exceeding 27 Bar and offers high collapse resistance.

U-PVC systems are virtually maintenance-free. Since they do not rust or rot, they require no protective coatings or painting. Maintenance is generally limited to periodic checks of the submersible pump and ensuring the wellhead remains sealed to prevent contamination.

Yes. Manufacturing U-PVC pipes consumes significantly less energy compared to steel or concrete pipes, resulting in a lower carbon footprint. Additionally, Hass Pipe products are non-toxic, lead-free, and safe for drinking water (potable water) applications.

Standard U-PVC pipes are generally used for depths up to 100 meters. However, Hass Pipe’s specially engineered High-Pressure Series (Heavy Duty) and threaded casing pipes are designed to perform safely in deep wells reaching up to 300 meters, thanks to their enhanced wall thickness and trapezoidal thread design.

Yes, U-PVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) is a thermoplastic material, meaning it is 100% recyclable. At the end of their long lifecycle, these pipes can be mechanically recycled and reprocessed into new plastic products, contributing to a circular economy.

For vertical water wells, U-PVC is superior. U-PVC is rigid and has high tensile strength, which prevents the pipe from stretching or collapsing under the weight of the water column and pump. HDPE is flexible and better suited for horizontal transport, but in deep vertical boreholes, U-PVC provides the necessary structural stability.

Threaded pipes

(Trapezoidal threads) are designed for deep wells; they screw together quickly without glue, offering a stronger tensile load capacity and easier disassembly for pump maintenance. Plain-end pipes require solvent cement (glue) and are typically used for shallower depths or permanent casing where disassembly is not required.

Leakage in U-PVC systems is rare due to O-ring seals and solvent welding. However, if a leak is suspected, it can be detected by monitoring for a drop in water pressure when the pump is off, checking for frequent pump cycling (turning on/off rapidly), or using acoustic leak detection equipment for larger supply lines.
